Pompeii Casts. Victim 38 found in I.21.2/6, the Garden of the Fugitives, April 1961.

Victim 38 is a male of over 20 years of age.

The swelling on the back of the body could be due, in part, to the presence of a cloak or a large bag, while there appears to be something on the left ankle, perhaps the laces of a sandal.

The body was found between the 17th and 22nd of April at about 17.9m from the southern wall and approximately 1m from the eastern wall.

Victim 38 was found aligned with victims 36 and 37.
